The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the (angels) who tear out (the souls of the wicked) with violence; 1 and gently take it away; 2 by the angels who float (in the heavens by the will of God), 3 and vie with the others (in carrying out their Lord's behests); 4 Then those who regulate the affair. 5 On the Day (when the first blowing of the Trumpet is blown), the earth and the mountains will shake violently (and everybody will die), 6 Followed by oft-repeated (commotions): 7 hearts will be throbbing, 8 While eyes are downcast 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 Even if we should be decayed bones? 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 And lo! they will be awakened. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 "Go unto Pharaoh - for, verily, he has transgressed all bounds of what is right 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 Then I shall guide thee unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 but he cried lies, and rebelled, 21 He then turned away, striving in his effort. 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 then said: 'I am your lord, the most high' 24 So Allah seized him (and made him) an example for the after (life) and for the former. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
