Messengers! Eat of that which is good and do good deeds; I have knowledge of the things you do. 51 Your nation is but one nation, and I am your Lord, therefore fear Me. 52 But then they divided up their order into different creeds, each section rejoicing in what it had come to have. 53 Wherefore leave thou them in their bewilderment for a season. 54 Do they assume that the wealth and sons which We provide them – 55 We are hastening them on to good things? Aye! they perceive not. 56 Only those who are, out of fear of Him, humble before their Lord, 57 And those who believe in the revelations of their Lord, 58 And those who join not anyone (in worship) as partners with their Lord; 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 Are the ones who hasten to goodness and outpace the others. 61 And We tax not any person except according to his capacity, and with Us is a Record which speaks the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 In fact, the hearts of the unbelievers are in the dark because of their ignorance of real virtue; they act against it. 63 But then when We seize the affluent among them, they will cry out for help. 64 “Do not implore this day; you will not be helped by Us.” 65 My verses were recited to you, but you turned upon your heels, 66 waxing proud against it, talking foolish talk by night.' 67 Do they not ponder over the Word (of Allah), or has anything (new) come to them that did not come to their fathers of old? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 Or do they say that he is possessed? In fact, he has brought the truth to them, but most of them abhor the truth. 70 And were the truth to follow their desires there would have been corrupted the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein. Aye! We have come to them with their admonition; so it is from their admonition that they turn away. 71 Or do you ask of them any tribute? In that case the tribute of your Lord is better, for He is the best of providers. 72 Indeed you are calling them to a Straight Path, 73 And most surely those who do not believe in the hereafter are deviating from the way. 74 ۞ Even if We were to grant them mercy and rescue them from hardship, they would still blindly persist in their rebellion. 75 Already have We grasped them with punishment, but they humble not themselves unto their Lord, nor do they pray, 76 until We open before them a gate of [truly] severe suffering [in the life to come]: and then, lo! they will be broken in spirit. 77
