The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is covered, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 When the mountains vanish (like a mirage); 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the heaven is torn away. 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 then shall a soul know what it has produced. 14 I do not need to swear by the orbiting 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 and the night as it darkly falls, 17 And the morning when it brightens, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 endowed with power and held in honour by the Lord of the Throne -- 20 there he is obeyed and held trustworthy. 21 Your companion is not possessed; 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And this Prophet is not miserly upon the hidden. (Allah gave the knowledge of the hidden to the Holy Prophet – peace and blessings be upon him.) 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 Verily this is no less than a Message to (all) the Worlds: 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
