Al-Dukhaan 2 of 3
And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 From Firaun; he was indeed proud, among the transgressors. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 and gave them such signs [of Our grace] as would clearly presage a test. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "There is nothing beyond our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 So bring our ancestors back, if you are truthful." 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them in sport. 38 We have created them for a genuine purpose, but most people do not know. 39 Truly, the Day of Decision is the appointed time for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 except those to whom Allah shows mercy. He is the Most Mighty, the Most Compassionate. 42
