Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning to mankind,- 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 save the Companions of the Right; 39 In gardens they will ask one another 40 about the sinners. 41 "What has brought you into hell-fire?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we have not been feeding the poor. 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 No indeed; each one of them desires that open letters be sent to each of them. 52 This will certainly never be the case! In fact, they are not afraid of the Day of Judgment. 53 Nay, verily, this (Quran) is an admonition, 54 So whosoever willeth may heed it. 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
