Al-Takaathur
Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)
8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
The excessive gathering (of increase and boasting) occupied you (from worshipping and obeying) 1 Until ye come to the graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 Nay, but ye will come to know! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 You will be shown hell 6 Then you will surely see it with the eye of certainty. 7 and on that Day you will most surely be called to account for [what you did with] the boon of life! 8
True are the words of God the Almighty.
