The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 and move [in their orbits] with steady motion, 2 And those who glide swimmingly, 3 Then press forward as in a race, 4 And then they manage the affair, 5 On the day when the first trump resoundeth. 6 And the second followeth it, 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 Their eyes cast down. 9 They shall say, 'What, are we being restored as we were before? 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go thou to Pharaoh for he has indeed transgressed all bounds: 17 and say: "Will you purify yourself, 18 I shall guide you to your Lord so that you may perhaps have fear of Him". 19 And he showed him the greatest sign, 20 but the Pharaoh rejected it and disobeyed (Moses). 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 And he gathered [his people] and called out 23 Saying: "I am your lord, most high", 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
