The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun is wound up; 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 The ten-month pregnant female camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the female infant buried alive is asked 8 For what crime she was put to death; 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near, 13 (Then) shall each soul know what it has put forward. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 And by the planets that move swiftly and hide themselves, 16 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 17 And the breath of morning 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 having power, with the Lord of the Throne secure, 20 (One) to be obeyed, and trustworthy; 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 For those of you who desire to walk the path that is straight, 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
