The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Read in the name of your Lord Who created. 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read, for your Lord is most beneficent, 3 who, by the pen, taught the human being: 4 The One Who taught man all what he did not know. 5 And yet, but yet man is rebellious, 6 As he bethinkest himself selfsufficient. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a servant of Ours from prayer? 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 Or enjoins righteousness? 12 Have you thought that if he denies and turns away, 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Let him know that if he does not desist, We shall certainly drag him by his forelocks, 15 the lying, rebellious forehead! 16 Let him call on his associates for help 17 We will call the guards of Hell (to deal with him)! 18 Beware! Do not obey him, but bow in adoration and draw near (to your Lord). ۩ 19
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
