And to Samood (We sent) their brother Salih. He said: O my people! serve Allah, you have no god other than Him; clear proof indeed has come to you from your Lord; this is (as) Allah's she-camel for you-- a sign, therefore leave her alone to pasture on Allah's earth, and do not touch her with any harm, otherwise painful chastisement will overtake you. 73 "And remember how He made you inheritors after the 'Ad people and gave you habitations in the land: ye build for yourselves palaces and castles in (open) plains, and carve out homes in the mountains; so bring to remembrance the benefits (ye have received) from Allah, and refrain from evil and mischief on the earth." 74 The proud ones among Salih's people asked his oppressed followers, "Do you (really) know that Salih is a Messenger of his Lord?" They replied, "We have faith in the Message which he preaches". 75 The arrogant leaders said, "We reject what you believe in." 76 Then they hamstrung the she-camel, disdainfuliy disobeyed the commandment of their Lord, and said: 'O Salih! Bring upon us the scourge with which you threatened us if you are truly a Messenger [of Allah].' 77 So the earthquake seized them, and they lay (dead), prostrate in their homes. 78 Saleh therefore turned away from them and said, “O my people! Indeed I did deliver my Lord’s message to you and wished you good, but you do not want well-wishers.” (The people in the graves can hear the speech of those who are on earth.) 79 We sent Lot, who said to his people, "How can you commit an abomination such as no one in the world has ever done before you? 80 See, you approach men lustfully instead of women; no, you are a people that do exceed.' 81 And the answer of his people was no other than that they said: Turn them out of your town, surely they are a people who seek to purify (themselves). 82 But we saved him and his family, except his wife: she was of those who legged behind. 83 and We let loose a shower [of stones] upon them, Observe, then, the end of the evil-doers. 84
