The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ There hath approached unto mankind their reckoning, while they in neglect are turning away. 1 Never does a new reminder come to them from their Lord but they listen to it with dalliance. 2 Their hearts are involved in play; and the unjust secretly conferred, “What is he, except another a human like you?! So do you follow magic although you have perceived?” 3 He said: "My Lord knows well all that is spoken in the heavens and the earth. He is All-Hearing, All- Knowing." 4 "Nay," they say, "(these are) medleys of dream! - Nay, He forged it! - Nay, He is (but) a poet! Let him then bring us a Sign like the ones that were sent to (Prophets) of old!" 5 Not one city that We destroyed before them believed; what then, will they not believe? 6 And We sent not (as Our messengers) before thee other than men, whom We inspired. Ask the followers of the Reminder if ye know not? 7 nor did We fashion them as bodies that ate not food, neither were they immortal; 8 We then fulfilled the promise to them, therefore rescued them and whomever We willed, and destroyed the transgressors. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
