And Nuh! recall what time he cried aforetime; so we answered him and delivered him and his household from a calamity mighty. 76 We helped him against people who rejected Our Signs: truly they were a people given to Evil: so We drowned them (in the Flood) all together. 77 David and Solomon were trying to settle the case of the people's sheep that grazed in a corn-field at night. We witnessed their decree in that matter. 78 And We made Solomon to understand (the case); and unto each of them We gave judgment and knowledge. And we subdued the hills and the birds to hymn (His) praise along with David. We were the doers (thereof). 79 And We taught him how to make garments [of God-consciousness] for you, [O men,] so that they might fortify you against all that may cause you fear: but are you grateful [for this boon]? 80 And unto Solomon (We subdued) the wind in its raging. It set by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And of everything We are Aware. 81 And of the evil ones, were some who dived for him, and did other work besides; and it was We Who guarded them. 82 ۞ AND [remember] Job, when he cried out to his Sustainer, "Affliction has befallen me: but Thou art the most merciful of the merciful!" 83 Then We heard his prayer and removed that adversity from which he suffered, and We gave him his household (that he had lost) and the like thereof along with them, a mercy from Our store, and a remembrance for the worshippers; 84 And (We bestowed the same favour) upon Ishmael, Idris and Dhu al-Kifl, for they were all steadfast. 85 We admitted them to Our mercy. They were all righteous men. 86 And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." 87 Then we heard his prayer and saved him from the anguish. Thus we save believers. 88 And We bestowed favour upon Zechariah, when he cried to his Lord: "Lord! Leave me not solitary (without any issue). You are the Best Inheritor." 89 So We answered him, and We bestowed on him Yahya and We made sound for him his spouse. Verily they were wont to vie with one another in good deeds and to call upon us with longing and dread, and they were ever before us meek. 90 Remember the one who guarded her chastity; so We breathed Our Spirit into her, and made her and her son a sign for all people. 91 Lo! this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me. 92 And they have broken their religion (into fragments) among them, (yet) all are returning unto Us. 93
