The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the awesome tiding [of resurrection,] 2 concerning which they have disputes. 3 But they will soon come to know. 4 Verily, verily they shall soon (come to) know! 5 Have We not made the earth as a bed, 6 And the high hills bulwarks? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 And We have made your sleep as a rest. 9 and We appointed night for a garment, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And We made a shining lamp, 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens dense with follage. 16 Verily the Day of Sorting out is a thing appointed, 17 the Day when the Trumpet shall be blown, and you will come forth in multitudes; 18 and when the sky shall be opened up and will become all doors; 19 and the mountains will be set in motion and become a mirage. 20 Truly Hell is as a place of ambush, 21 For the exorbitant a receptacle. 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus 25 a befitting recompense for their deeds. 26 Behold, they were not expecting to be called to account, 27 And denied Our verses with [emphatic] denial. 28 And We have kept recorded everything in a Book, accounted for. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
