The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars shall scatter away, 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 And when the wild beasts are herded together, 5 when the seas shall be set boiling, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 questions are asked about the baby girls buried alive, 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 (Then) every soul will know what it hath made ready. 14 So I swear by the retreating stars - 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 that the Quran is the word of the honorable angelic, mighty Messenger 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 [the word] of one to be heeded, and worthy of trust! 21 And your companion is not insane. 22 he indeed saw the message-bearer on the clear horizon; 23 he is not niggardly of the Unseen. 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 When whither go ye? 26 That is but an advice to the entire creation! 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
