And when your Lord called to Moses, saying: 'Go to the harmdoing nation, 10 The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear and take heed?" 11 He said: My Lord! Lo! I fear that they will deny me, 12 "My breast will be straitened. And my speech may not go (smoothly): so send unto Aaron. 13 Moreover, they keep a grave charge [pending] against me, and I fear that they will slay me." 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 And go, both of you, unto Pharaoh and say, 'Behold, we bear a message from the Sustainer of all the worlds: 16 Then send with us the children of Israel. 17 Said Firaun, “Did we do not raise you amongst us, as a child? And you spent many years of your life among us!” 18 And thou didst the deed thou didst, being one of the ungrateful!' 19 Moses replied: "I committed that act erringly. 20 Then I ran away from you in fear, but my Lord granted me the law and has appointed me as a Messenger. 21 And is it a favor of which you remind me that you have enslaved the children of Israel? 22 The Pharaoh asked: "And what is the Lord of all the worlds?" 23 'He' (Moses) replied: 'is the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, if you believe' 24 Pharaoh said to those around him: "Do you hear (what he says)?" 25 [And Moses] continued: "[He is] your Sustainer, [too,] as well as the Sustainer of your forefathers of old!" 26 (The Pharaoh) said (to his nobles): "Your apostle who has been sent to you, is certainly mad." 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 Pharaoh said, "If you take any deity other than myself, I will throw you into prison," 29 'What, even if I brought you something clear' said he (Moses). 30 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "Bring it forth then, if you are of the truthful!" 31 (No sooner had he said this than) Moses threw down his rod and behold, it was a veritable serpent, 32 And he drew forth his hand, and lo, it was white to the beholders. 33
