The News (Al-Naba')
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ What do they quarrel about? 1 About the Great News 2 That over which they are in disagreement. 3 Nay, but in time they will come to understand [it]! 4 again, no indeed; soon will they come to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a place to rest 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 And made the night as a covering, 10 And We made the day for seeking livelihood. 11 We raised over you several secure (skies), 12 And We have set therein lamps glowing. 13 and sent down abundant water from the clouds 14 That We may produce from it grain and vegetation, 15 and gardens dense with foliage? 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 the day the Trumpet is blown, and you shall come in troops, 18 And the heaven shall be opened, and it will become as gates, 19 And the mountains are removed and will be [but] a mirage. 20 Indeed hell is lying in ambush. 21 for the insolent a resort, 22 They will tarry therein for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink, 24 save boiling water and pus 25 a meet requital [for their sins]! 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 But they belied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, and that which Our Prophet (Peace be upon him) brought) completely. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 So taste you (the results of your evil actions); no increase shall We give you, except in torment. 30
