The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 when the stars shall be thrown down, 2 when the mountains shall be set moving, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when souls are reunited, 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 Upon what sin was she killed for. 9 And when the pages are made public 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 Rather, I swear by the returning 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 And the close of night, 17 and the first breath of morning. 18 Verily this is the word of a noble message-bearer; 19 Full of power, well-established (in position) with the Lord and Master of the Throne, 20 Obeyed and worthy there of trust. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 And he is of the unseen not a tenacious concealer. 24 Nor is it the word of an evil spirit accursed. 25 where then are you going? 26 It is nothing but Good Counsel for everyone in the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
