Verily this is a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds: 192 Which the trustworthy Ruh [Jibrael (Gabriel)] has brought down; 193 To thy heart and mind, that thou mayest admonish. 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Was it not a sign for them known to the learned of the Children of Israel? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 And he had recited it unto them, they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so, We have caused it to enter into the hearts of harmdoers: 200 They will not believe in it until they see the grievous Penalty; 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then they will say: Are we to be reprieved? 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years 205 Then there comes to them that with which they are threatened, 206 All that with which they used to enjoy shall not avail them. 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 The satans did not bring down this (Clear Book), 210 It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able. 211 The satans are barred from listening to anything from the heavens. 212 So call on no other god but God, lest you are condemned to torment; 213 And warn thy clan, thy nearest kin. 214 And be kind to him who follows you of the believers. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 who can see whether you stand up 218 or move during your prostration with the worshippers. 219 Surely He is the All-hearing, the All-knowing. 220 Shall I inform you upon whom do the devils descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. 222 Who give ear, and most of them are liars. 223 Poets are followed by the perverse. 224 Seest thou not that they wander distracted in every valley?- 225 And that they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
