Truly, it is the sending of the Lord of the Worlds. 192 The Trusted Spirit hath brought it down. 193 into your heart, so that you may be a warner, 194 In plain Arabic speech. 195 And verily, [the essence of] this [revelation] is indeed found in the ancient books of divine wisdom [as well]. 196 Is it not evidence enough for them that the learned among the Children of Israel have recognized this [as true]? 197 (But such is their adamance) that had We revealed it to one of the non-Arabs and even if he had recited (this clear Arabic discourse) to them 198 and he had recited it to them, they would not have believed in it. 199 We have thus caused denial of truth to enter into the hearts of the sinners: 200 they will not believe in it until they see the grievous punishment. 201 So it will come upon them suddenly, whilst they will be unaware. 202 And they will say, "May we be reprieved?" 203 What, do they seek to hasten Our chastisement? 204 Just think: If We let them enjoy (the good things of life) for a few years more, 205 and then the chastisement of which they were being warned were to come upon them, 206 Of what avail shall their enjoyment be to them? 207 And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners 208 By way of admonition, and We have never been oppressors. 209 And the Shaitans have not come down with it. 210 nor does it behove them, nor does it lie in their power. 211 Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed. 212 So call not on any other god with Allah, or thou wilt be among those under the Penalty. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 and extend kindness and affection to those of the believers who follow you. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And put thy trust on the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,- 217 Who sees you when you arise 218 And your movements among those who bow in homage to God. 219 Indeed only He is the All Hearing, the All Knowing. 220 Should I tell you on whom the devils descend? 221 They descend upon every calumniator, sinner. 222 on those who whisper hearsay in the ears of people; and most of them are liars. 223 Only the erring people follow the poets. 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 and how they say that which they do not? 226 Except those who believe and do the right, and remember God a great deal, who retaliate only when they have been wronged. Yet the oppressors will now come to know through what reversals they will be overthrown! 227
True are the words of God the Almighty.

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
