Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself! 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Doom?' 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
