Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 And those who distribute by command, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgement?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And also in your ownselves. Will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
