The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 And when wild animals are herded together. 5 And when the seas shall become as blazing Fire or shall overflow; 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 when the buried infant shall be asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 The curtain drawn back from the skies, 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Those that run [their courses] and disappear - 16 and by the night as it recedes, 17 The rising dawn, 18 Verily it is a Word brought by a messenger honoured, 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 He is not chary of making public what is unknown. 24 Nor is this [message] the word of any satanic force accursed. 25 Where then will you go? 26 It is not except a reminder to the worlds 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
