Surely the people of al-Hijr also rejected the Messengers, calling them liars. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 And they were hewing out houses from mountains feeling secure. 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 And of no avail to them was all that they did (with such art and care)! 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Your Lord is certainly the All-knowing Creator. 86 And assuredly We have vouchsafed unto thee seven of the repetitions and the mighty Qur'an. 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: Surely I am the plain warner. 89 Such as We send down for those who make division, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So, by your Lord, We would most certainly question them all, 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Therefore declare openly what you are bidden and turn aside from the polytheists. 94 We suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 Worship your Lord until you achieve the ultimate certainty. 99
