Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Sure Reality! 1 What is the Inevitable? 2 And what will make you know what the Reality is? 3 The Thamud and 'Ad denied the consequential calamity. 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as to Ad, they were destroyed by a roaring, violent blast. 6 To which He subjected them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that thou mightest have seen men during it lying prostrate, as though they were stumps of palms ruined. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 And Pharaoh and those before him, and the communities that were destroyed, brought error, 9 And they disobeyed the messenger of their Lord, therefor did He grip them with a tightening grip. 10 Indeed, when the water overflowed, We carried your ancestors in the sailing ship 11 That We might make it a memorial for you, and that remembering ears (that heard the story) might remember. 12 So when the Trumpet will be blown, with a sudden single blow. 13 and the earth and the mountains are lifted up and then crushed with a single blow, 14 And so, that which must come to pass will on that day have come to pass; 15 and the sky will be rent asunder - for, frail will it have become on that Day; 16 And the angels shall be on the borders thereof; and on that Day eight shall bear over them the Throne of thy Lord. 17 On that day you shall be exposed to view-- no secret of yours shall remain hidden. 18 Then, as for him who is given his record in his right hand, he will say: Take, read my book! 19 I was sure that the record of my deeds would be shown to me". 20 So he shall have an agreeable life 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 The Fruits whereof (will hang in bunches) low and near. 23 (They will be told): “Eat and drink with good cheer as a reward for the good deeds you did in the days that have passed by.” 24 As for him whose Record will be given to him in his left hand, he will exclaim: “Would that I had never been given my Record, 25 Nor that I knew my reckoning! 26 Would that death had taken us away for good. 27 My riches have not availed me, 28 Gone from me is my authority." 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 Then fasten him with a chain seventy cubits long: 32 “Indeed he refused to accept faith in Allah, the Greatest.” 33 Nor he urged on others the feeding of the poor. 34 So no friend has he here this Day, 35 Nor any food except from the discharge of wounds; 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
