People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they hewed houses in the mountains in security. 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Indeed, your Lord - He is the Knowing Creator. 86 We have given you the seven oft-recited verses and the great Quran. 87 Strain not thine eyes toward that which We cause some wedded pairs among them to enjoin, and be not grieved on their account, and lower thy wing (in tenderness) for the believers. 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 For all their deeds. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 and worship your Lord until the last moment (of your life) that will most certainly come. 99
