The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Bestowed the Qur'an, 2 He created the human 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the herbs and the trees - both (alike) prostrate in adoration. 6 And the skies has He raised high, and has devised [for all things] a measure, 7 so that you [too, O men,] might never transgress the measure [of what is right]: 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And the earth He has put for the creatures. 10 There are fruits of all kinds on it, and date-palms with their clusters sheathed, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord, will ye twain belie? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has made the two oceans meet each other, 19 Between them is a Barrier which they do not transgress: 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
