He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ He frowned and turned away. 1 Because the blind man came unto him. 2 And what should teach thee? Perchance he would cleanse him, 3 or receive some (Quranic) advice which would benefit him. 4 For him who does not care, 5 So you are after him! 6 though you will not be questioned even if he never purifies himself. 7 And for him who came to you striving, 8 And hath fear, 9 Him thou neglectest! 10 No indeed; it is a Reminder 11 So whoever wishes may remember it. 12 in [the light of His] revelations blest with dignity, 13 Exalted and purified, 14 In the hands of scribes (angels). 15 noble and purified. 16 Woe to man! How ungrateful he is! 17 Of what [stuff] has He created him? 18 From a sperm-drop: He hath created him, and then mouldeth him in due proportions; 19 Then (as for) the way-- He has made it easy (for him) 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 and He will resurrect him whenever He wants. 22 Certainly, he has not duly fulfilled His commands. 23 Let man consider his food: 24 For that We pour forth water in abundance, 25 And We split the earth in clefts, 26 Thereby produced grain in it. 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 and olive trees and date palms 29 And thick gardens, 30 And fruits and herbage: 31 [As] enjoyment for you and your grazing livestock. 32 But when the deafening cry shall be sounded 33 On the Day whereon a man shall flee from his brother, 34 mother, father, 35 and from his spouse and his children: 36 Everyone on that Day will have affairs to keep him occupied. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, rejoicing. 39 some faces on that day shall be dusty 40 and covered by darkness. 41 those will be ones who denied the truth and were immersed in iniquity. 42
