The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 And when the stars shall fall; 2 and when the mountains are made to vanish, 3 when ten-month pregnant camels are left untended, 4 And when the wild beasts are gathered 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls he paired, 7 and when the girl-child buried alive shall be asked: 8 for what crime she had been slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 And when hell is further enflamed. 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 A soul will [then] know what it has brought [with it]. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 orbiting, disappearing; 16 And the night when it departs, 17 and the morning when it extends, 18 Truly, this is the word brought by a noble messenger, 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 Nor is your companion distracted. 22 And indeed he (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) saw him [Jibrael (Gabriel)] in the clear horizon (towards the east). 23 And he is not avid of the Unseen. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 But you cannot will it unless God, the Sustainer of all the worlds, wills [to show you that way]. 29
