Al-Infitaar
Shattering (Al-Infitaar)
19 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat) before The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven shall be cleft, 1 When the Stars are scattered; 2 And when the seas are erupted 3 And when the graves are overturned. 4 every human being will [at last] comprehend, what he has sent ahead and what he has held back [in this world]. 5 O Man! What deceived thee as to thy generous Lord 6 Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? 7 and composed thee after what form He would? 8 By no means! Aye, ye belie the Requital. 9 Lo! there are above you guardians, 10 watching over you 11 who know what you do. 12 Verily the pious shall be in Delight. 13 And indeed the sinners are in hell. 14 They shall enter it on the day of judgment. 15 And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. 16 And what do you know – of what sort is the Day of Justice! 17 Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? 18 It is the Day when no one shall have the power to do anything for another, and all command shall be Allah's. 19
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
