The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Prosperous are the believers 1 who are submissive to God in their prayers, 2 who avoid impious talks, 3 and who are intent on inner purity; 4 Who abstain from sex, 5 Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed - 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 (Prosperous are those) who preserve their trusts and pledges 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These are the heirs 10 that will inherit the paradise; [and] therein shall they abide. 11 We created man of an extraction of clay, 12 Then made him a drop of fluid in a secure shelter. 13 Then We made the seed a clot, then We made the clot a lump of flesh, then We made (in) the lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, then We caused it to grow into another creation, so blessed be Allah, the best of the creators. 14 Then verily, thereafter, ye are sure to die. 15 Then surely on the day of resurrection you shall be raised. 16 And assuredly We created above you seven paths, and of the creation We have not been neglectful. 17 We sent down water from the sky in right measure, and caused it to stay in the earth, and We have the power to cause it to vanish (in the manner We please). 18 Then through water We caused gardens of date-palms and vines to grow for you wherein you have an abundance of delicious fruits and from them you derive your livelihood. 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 And Verily! In the cattle there is indeed a lesson for you. We give you to drink (milk) of that which is in their bellies. And there are, in them, numerous (other) benefits for you, and of them you eat. 21 And on them and on the ships you are borne. 22
