The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ ABOUT WHAT do they [most often] ask one another? 1 About the great news, (i.e. Islamic Monotheism, the Quran, which Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) brought and the Day of Resurrection, etc.), 2 on which they [so utterly] disagree. 3 Nay, but they will come to know! 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth an even expanse? 6 And the mountains as stakes? 7 And (have We not) created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and the night as a cover, 10 and made the day [a symbol of] life. 11 And constructed above you seven strong [heavens] 12 and We have set therein a glowing lamp. 13 And sent down, from the rain clouds, pouring water 14 that We may bring forth with it grain, plants 15 And gardens of luxurious growth? 16 Indeed, the Day of Decision is an appointed time, 17 The day on which the trumpet shall be blown so you shall come forth in hosts, 18 and heaven is opened, having gates, 19 and the mountains shall be made to vanish, as if they had been a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 The destination of the rebellious. 22 They will remain in it for ages. 23 Nothing cool shall they taste therein, nor any drink. 24 except boiling water and pus, 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 Indeed they had no fear of the account. 27 But they (impudently) treated Our Signs as false. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
