Al-Takweer
The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
29 verses, revealed in Mecca after Thorns (Al-Masad) before The All High (Al-A'alaa)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun is folded up, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the hills are moved, 3 When the she-camels, ten months with young, are left untended; 4 The wild beasts stampede on the run, 5 and when the seas are set on fire, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the female (infant) buried alive (as the pagan Arabs used to do) shall be questioned. 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 And when Hellfire is set ablaze 12 when Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul will know what it had prepared. 14 So, I call the receding stars to witness, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 The closing night, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 who is honored in the presence of the Lord of the Throne, 20 The one who is obeyed, and trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 he truly beheld him [the angel] on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is this the word of an outcast devil. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is a reminder for all the peoples of the world, 27 for whosoever of you who would go straight; 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
