Al-Duhaa
The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
11 verses, revealed in Mecca after Dawn (Al-Fajr) before Cooling the Temper (Al-Sharrhh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the white forenoon 1 And by the night when it is stillest, 2 Thy Sustainer has not forsaken thee, nor does He scorn thee: 3 The Last shall be better for you than the First. 4 And soon will your Lord give you so that you shall be well pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and give thee shelter (and care)? 6 Did He not find thee wandering and direct (thee)? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 Therefor the orphan oppress not, 9 Therefor the beggar drive not away, 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11
