And Nuh, when he cried aforetime, so We answered him, and delivered him and his followers from the great calamity. 76 We helped him against people who denied Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). Verily, they were a people given to evil. So We drowned them all. 77 We bestowed the same favour upon David and Solomon. Recall, when they gave judgement regarding a tillage into which the sheep of some people had strayed at night, and We were witnesses to their judgement. 78 And We made Solomon to understand (the case); and unto each of them We gave judgment and knowledge. And we subdued the hills and the birds to hymn (His) praise along with David. We were the doers (thereof). 79 We taught him the art of making coats of mail for you, to protect you in battle. Will you then give thanks? 80 To Solomon the raging wind ran at his command to the land which We had blessed. We have knowledge of all things. 81 And of the evil ones (subdued We unto him) some who dived (for pearls) for him and did other work, and We were warders unto them. 82 ۞ And (remember) Ayub (Job), when he cried to his Lord: "Verily, distress has seized me, and You are the Most Merciful of all those who show mercy." 83 So We heard his cry and relieved him of the misery he was in. We restored his family to him, and along with them gave him others similar to them as a grace from Us and reminder for those who are obedient. 84 Remember Ishmael and Idris and Dhul Kifl: they were all patient and steadfast. 85 We admitted them to Our mercy: for they were of the righteous ones. 86 And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, "There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers." 87 So We responded to him and delivered him from the grief and thus do We deliver the believers. 88 Remember Zachariah, when he called out to his Lord, "Do not leave me heirless Lord, You are the best of heirs." 89 So We heard his prayer and bestowed John upon him and made his wife fit to bear him a child. They used to hasten to do good and they called on Us in hope and fear, and they were always humble towards Us. 90 And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds. 91 People, you are one nation and I am your Lord. Worship Me. 92 And [yet] they divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return. 93
