O apostles! eat of the good things and do good; surely I know what you do. 51 And verily, this community of yours is one single community, since I am the Sustainer of you all: remain, then, conscious of Me! 52 But people have cut off their affair (of unity), between them, into sects: each party rejoices in that which is with itself. 53 Therefore leave them in their overwhelming ignorance till 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 We hasten in good works for them? No, they are not aware. 56 Those who tremble with fear of their Lord; 57 and who believe in their Sustainer's messages, 58 who associate none with their Lord, 59 and those who give what they give, their hearts quaking that they are returning to their Lord -- 60 it is they who vie with one another in doing good works and shall be the foremost in doing so. 61 And we task not any soul beyond its scope, and with Us is a Record which speaketh the truth, and they will not be wronged. 62 Nay, but their hearts are in perplexity as to this, and they have deeds besides that that they are doing. 63 until We seize with Our chastisement those of them that are given to luxuriant ways. They will then begin to groan. 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 Time and again were My messages conveyed unto you, but [every time] you would turn about on your heels 66 “Priding yourself in serving the Sacred Mosque; at night you utter indecent stories in it, while discarding the truth.” 67 Have they not pondered the Word, or hath that come unto them which came not unto their fathers of old? 68 Or is it that they were unaware of their Messenger and were therefore repelled by him for he was a stranger to them? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 And were the truth to follow their desires there would have been corrupted the heavens and the earth and whatsoever is therein. Aye! We have come to them with their admonition; so it is from their admonition that they turn away. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 and, most surely, you are calling them to a straight path. 73 And verily those who believe not in the Hereafter are deviating from that Way. 74 ۞ If We had mercy on them and removed their afflictions, they would still persist in their insolence, blindly wandering. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 until, when We open against them a door of terrible chastisement, lo, they are sore confounded at it. 77
