HAST THOU, then, ever considered him who turns away [from remembering Us, and cares for no more than the life of this world,] 33 And gave little, and then stopped? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or is he not informed with what is in the Pages (Scripture) of Musa (Moses), 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 That no soul shall bear another's burden, 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 and that (the result of) his striving shall soon be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 and that the final end is with your Lord, 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 That He hath promised a Second Creation (Raising of the Dead); 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 And He destroyed the overthrown cities [of Sodom to which Prophet Lout (Lot) was sent]. 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And keep laughing and do not weep, 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Rather prostrate yourselves before Allah and serve Him. ۩ 62
