Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 which then blow tempestuously 2 by (the angels) spreading (the words of God) far and wide, 3 Then separate them one from another, 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 To cut off all excuses or to warn; 6 Surely what you are promised shall come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 When the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away as dust, 10 and when the Messengers' time is set 11 For what day is the time appointed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Destroyed We not the former folk, 16 We shall then send the latter after them. 17 thus do We deal with the culprits. 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known term? 22 We determined; excellent determiners are We. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 for both the living and the dead? 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth! 28 GO ON towards that [resurrection] which you were wont to call a lie! 29 "Depart ye to a Shadow (of smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames 31 Indeed hell throws up sparks like huge castles. 32 sparks like to golden herds. 33 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor shall they be permitted so that they might excuse themselves. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 'This is the Day of Decision; We have joined you with the ancients; 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
