The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 (Is it) of the great announcement 2 About which they differ? 3 Surely yes, they will soon come to know! 4 Again, no indeed; they shall soon know! 5 Have We not made the earth an expanse. 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 We created you in pairs, 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and We made the night a mantle, 10 And made the day as a means of subsistence? 11 and built above you seven strong firmaments, 12 And made [therein] a burning lamp 13 And then sent down hard rain from the water bearing clouds. 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And dense gardens. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 On that day the trumpet will be sounded and you will come (to Us) in huge groups. 18 And the heaven shall be opened so that it shall be all openings, 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Truly, Hell is a place of ambush, 21 A place of resort for the inordinate, 22 there, they shall live for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except boiling water, and dirty wound discharges. 25 as a fitting recompense for their deeds. 26 They were those who did not expect a reckoning, 27 and roundly denied Our Signs as false. 28 and everything We have numbered in a Book. 29 "So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." 30
