The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 It is the piercing star - 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He was created of a gushing fluid, 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 So man will neither have any strength nor any aide. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 It is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising a guile, 15 and so am I: 16 Give respite to the disbelievers and leave them alone for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
