The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man. 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 He raised the sky and set the Balance 7 In order that you may not transgress (due) balance. 8 weigh, therefore, [your deeds] with equity, and cut not the measure short! 9 And the earth has He spread out for all living beings, 10 On it are fruits and palm-trees with sheathed clusters [of dates], 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinn from smokeless fire. 15 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 21 Out of them come pearls and coral. 22 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord would you then deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
