Al-Waaqe'ah 2 of 3
A numerous company from among the first, 39 and a good many of later times. 40 And those of the left hand, how wretched are those of the left hand! 41 [They will find themselves] in the midst of scorching winds, and burning despair, 42 in the shadow of a smoking blaze, 43 Which is neither cool nor is for respect. 44 Before they lived at ease, 45 and they persisted obstinately in awful sin, 46 It was they who said, "Shall we be resurrected after we die and have turned into dust and bones? 47 “And also our forefathers?” 48 Say: 'Those of ancient times and those of later times 49 Will be gathered together on a certain day which is predetermined. 50 "Then moreover, verily, you the erring-ones, the deniers (of Resurrection)! 51 Most surely eat of a tree of Zaqqoom, 52 Fill your bellies with it, 53 and drink boiling water on top of that, 54 Lapping it up like female camels raging of thirst with disease." 55 Such will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement. 56 It is We who have created you. Why then did you not testify to the Truth? 57 Do ye then see?- The (human Seed) that ye throw out,- 58 Is it you who creates it, or are We the Creator? 59 We have incorporated death in your constitution, and We shall not be hindered 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 And assuredly ye have fully known the first production wherefore heed ye not? 62 Have ye seen that which ye cultivate? 63 Is it you who makes it grow, or are We the grower? 64 [For,] were it Our will, We could indeed turn it into chaff, and you would be left to wonder [and to lament,] 65 crying, "We have been left to suffer loss. 66 "Nay, but we are deprived!" 67 Did you cast a good look at the water that you drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 If We pleased, We would have made it salty; why do you not then give thanks? 70 So what is your opinion regarding the fire which you kindle? 71 Did you make its tree grow or was it We Who made it grow? 72 We have made it as a reminder of hell and as a utility for travellers in the jungle. 73 Then magnify the Name of thy Lord, the All-mighty. 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
