He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ He frowned and turned away 1 from a blind man who had come up to him. 2 But what would make you perceive, [O Muhammad], that perhaps he might be purified 3 Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? 4 As to one who regards Himself as self-sufficient, 5 Unto him thou payest regard. 6 Though it is not your concern if he should not grow (in fulness). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 And hath fear, 9 you pay him no heed. 10 By no means (should it be so)! For it is indeed a Message of instruction: 11 So whoso wills may give heed to it. 12 upon pages high-honoured, 13 Exalted (in dignity), kept pure and holy, 14 (Written) by the hands of scribes- 15 and angelic scribes. 16 Cursed is man; how disbelieving is he. 17 From what did He create him? 18 Of a small seed; He created him, then He made him according to a measure, 19 Then doth He make His path smooth for him; 20 Then He causes him to die and be buried. 21 Then He will raise him up again when He please. 22 Nay, but (man) has not done what He commanded him. 23 Let man therefore consider (the sources of) his food. 24 how We pour down rain in abundance, 25 Then We cracked the earth open under pressure (of germination) 26 to yield therein corn, 27 and vines, and reeds, 28 And Olives and Dates, 29 And enclosed gardens luxuriant. 30 And fruits and Abba (herbage, etc.), 31 for you and for your animals to enjoy. 32 But when the Shout cometh 33 on that Day each person will flee from his brother, 34 And his mother and his father 35 And from his wife and sons. 36 Every man of them shall on that day have an affair which will occupy him. 37 On that day faces will be bright as dawn, 38 Laughing, rejoicing at good news; 39 And many a face will be covered with dust on that day. 40 Dust shall cover them 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Almighty Allah's Truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
