Al-A 'araaf 13 of 24

Does it not guide the people who inherit the land from former people that We can punish them for their sins if We will? And seal up their hearts so that they would not be able to lend an ear to words of guidance? 100 Such were the townships. We relate some tidings of them unto thee (Muhammad). Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they could not believe because they had before denied. Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers (that they hear not). 101 And We found most of them not true to their words; and indeed We found most of them disobedient. 102 After those We sent forth Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his nobles, but they dealt with Our signs unjustly. Observe, then, what happened to the mischief-makers. 103 Moses said: O Pharaoh! Lo! I am a messenger from the Lord of the Worlds, 104 "I am duty bound to speak nothing of God but the truth I have brought from your Lord a clear sign; so let the people of Israel depart with me." 105 (Pharaoh) said: If thou comest with a token, then produce it, if thou art of those who speak the truth. 106 Thereupon [Moses] threw down his staff, and lo! it was a serpent, plainly visible; 107 And he drew forth his hand, when lo: it was white unto the beholders. 108
