And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 So when I have made him complete and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down making obeisance to him. 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 "How could I bow," said he, "before a mortal whom You created from fermented clay dried tingling hard?" 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 And verily on thee shall be the curse till the Day of Requital. 35 He said: My Lord! Reprieve me till the day when they are raised. 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 [Whereupon Iblis] said: "O my Sustainer! Since Thou hast thwarted me, I shall indeed make [all that is evil] on earth seem goodly to them, and shall most certainly beguile them - into grievous error 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
