۞ And indeed We bestowed Ibrahim with guidance from the beginning, and We were Aware of him. 51 When he said to his father and his people, “What are these idols before whom you squat (worshipping)?” 52 They said: We found our fathers worshippers of them. 53 He said: 'Truly, you and your fathers are in clear error' 54 They said: "Are you expressing your true ideas before us or are you jesting?" 55 He said, "[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify. 56 By Allah, I will certainly outwit your idols as soon as you have turned your backs and gone' 57 Then he reduced them to fragments, all save the chief of them, that haply they might have recourse to it. 58 They said: Who hath done this to our gods? Surely it must be some evil-doer. 59 Some of them said, "We heard a youth called Abraham speaking against the idols". 60 They said, "Then bring him here in the sight of all the people, so that they may act as witnesses." 61 They said: art thou the one who hath wrought this unto our gods, O Ibrahim? 62 He said, 'No; it was this great one of them that did it. Question them; if they are able to speak!' 63 So they turned towards their own selves and (inwardly) said, “Indeed you yourselves are unjust.” 64 Then they were utterly put to confusion saying, 'Very well indeed thou knowest these do not speak.' 65 [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Do you then worship besides Allah, things that can neither profit you, nor harm you? 66 Woe to you for what you worship instead of God. Have you no understanding?" 67 They said, “Burn him and help your Gods, if you want to.” 68 We said: O fire, be coolness and peace for Abraham, 69 And they wanted to harm him, but We made them the worst losers. 70 and We delivered him, and Lot, unto the land that We had blessed for all beings. 71 And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac), and (a grandson) Ya'qub (Jacob). Each one We made righteous. 72 And We made them leaders, guiding by Our command; and We revealed unto them the doing of good deeds and the establishment of prayer, and the giving of poor-rate; and of Us they were the worshippers. 73 And We gave Lut the kingdom and knowledge, and We rescued him from the township that committed vile deeds; indeed those evil people were disobedient. 74 We admitted him to Our Mercy, he was among the righteous. 75
