In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Sad. CONSIDER this Qur'an, endowed with all that one ought to remember! 1 In fact, the unbelievers are the ones who are boastful and quarrelsome. 2 How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape. 3 Now they marvel that a warner has come to them from among them; and the unbelievers say, 'This is a lying sorcerer. 4 They say, "Has he condemned all other gods but One? This is certainly strange". 5 Their assembly left (saying): 'Go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired. 6 "We have not heard (the like) of this among the people of these later days. This is nothing but an invention! 7 Can it be that he alone has received the Quran?" In fact, they have doubts about My Quran and this is because they have not yet faced (My) torment. 8 Or are theirs the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower? 9 Or [that] the dominion over the heavens and the earth and all that is between them is theirs? Why, then, let them try to ascend [to God-like power] by all [conceivable] means! 10 But there - will be put to flight even a host of confederates. 11 The folk of Noah before them denied (their messenger) and (so did the tribe of) A'ad, and Pharaoh firmly planted, 12 And the Thamud, and the people of Lut, and the dwellers of the wood; these were the confederates. 13 There was not one but belied the apostles, wherefore justified was My wrath. 14

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
