And remember Our servant Job, when he called to his Lord, "Indeed, Satan has touched me with hardship and torment." 41 (And it was said unto him): Strike the ground with thy foot. This (spring) is a cool bath and a refreshing drink. 42 And We bestowed his household to him and one more similar to it – as a mercy from Us, and as a remembrance for the people of intellect. 43 (We said to him): 'Take a bundle of rushes and strike with it; and do not break your oath' We found him to be patient, a good worshiper and he was penitent. 44 AND CALL to mind Our servants Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, [all of them] endowed with inner strength and vision: 45 Verily We exalted them in consideration of a sterling quality: their remembrance of the Abode of the Hereafter. 46 They were, in Our sight, truly, of the company of the Elect and the Good. 47 And call to mind Ishmael and Elisha, and every one who [like them] has pledged himself [unto Us]: for, each of them was of the truly good! 48 This is a Reminder, and verily, for the Muttaqun (pious and righteous persons - see V. 2:2) is a good final return (Paradise), 49 the Gardens of eternity with gates thrown wide open to them. 50 wherein they recline, and wherein they call for fruits abundant, and sweet potions, 51 ۞ and with them maidens restraining their glances of equal age. 52 'This is what you are promised on the Day of Recompense, 53 this is Our unending provision' 54 This (is for the righteous). And lo! for the transgressors there with be an evil journey's end, 55 Hell, where they will burn, an evil resting-place. 56 This - so let them taste it - is scalding water and [foul] purulence. 57 and other such torments. 58 Their leaders will be told, "This band will also be thrown headlong with you into hell." Their leaders will exclaim, "May condemnation fall upon them! Let them suffer the torment of fire". 59 They will reply: “Rather, no welcome to you. (You will roast in Hell.) It is you who led us to this end. What an evil resort!” 60 They say: Our Lord! Whoever did prepare this for us, oh, give him double portion of the Fire! 61 And they will add: "How is it that we do not see [here any of the] men whom we were wont to count among the wicked, 62 Have we taken them in mockery? Or, have our eyes swerved from them?' 63 Surely that is true -- the disputing of the inhabitants of the Fire. 64
