The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And the promised day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 (Self-)destroyed were the owners of the ditch 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 They took revenge on them only because they believed in the All-mighty, the Al-laudable, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Indeed the seizure of your Lord is very severe. 12 He it is Who creates for the first time and He it is Who will create again, 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has it come to you the story of the hosts 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
