The Forenoon (Al-Duhaa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the glorious morning light; 1 And the night when dark and still, 2 Your Lord has neither left you, nor despises you. 3 And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). 4 And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. 5 Did He not find thee an orphan and protect (thee)? 6 Did He not find you a wanderer so He guided you? 7 And He found you poor, and made you rich (selfsufficient with selfcontentment, etc.)? 8 So do not oppress the orphan, 9 Nor repulse the petitioner (unheard); 10 And as to the favour of thine Lord, discourse thou thereof. 11
