The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lut said to them: Will you not guard (against evil)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 be, then, conscious of God, and pay heed unto me! 163 And I do not ask you any reward for it; my reward is only with the Lord of the worlds; 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? No, but you are a transgressing nation' 166 They said, “O Lut, if you do not desist, you will be expelled.” 167 He said: 'Truly, I am a detester of what you do' 168 My Lord, deliver me and my people from that they do.' 169 We saved him and all of his family, 170 except an old woman who stayed behind, 171 We destroyed the others 172 And rained on them a shower (of Stones). How terrible was the rain (that fell) on those who had been warned! 173 Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers. 174 And indeed your Lord only He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
