Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And the ships that glide with ease. 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 Through which are deluded (away from the Truth) such as would be deluded. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And every morning asked forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and whatever you are promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
