Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The Resurrection Verifier; 1 What is the Inevitable Calamity? 2 And what will teach thee what is the Indubitable? 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the outburst. 5 And as for 'Aad, they were destroyed by a screaming, violent wind 6 violent that He compelled against them seven nights and eight days, uninterruptedly, and thou mightest see the people laid prostrate in it as if they were the stumps of fallen down palm-trees. 7 and dost thou now see any remnant of them? 8 And there was Pharaoh, too, and [many of] those who lived before him, and the cities that were overthrown - [all of them] indulged in sin upon sin 9 They disobeyed the Messenger of their Lord and He seized them with torment which increased with time. 10 When the water rose in flood, We bore you in the ark, 11 That We might make it a remembrance for you, and the keen ear (person) may (hear and) understand it. 12 Then, when one blast is sounded on the Trumpet, 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 And the angels will be on its sides, and eight will, that Day, bear the Throne of thy Lord above them. 17 You will then be set before Him, and not one of you will remain unexposed. 18 Then as to him who will be vouchsafed his book in his right hand, he shall say: here! read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a lofty Paradise, 22 The fruit clusters of which are hanging down. 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 And whoever is given his book in his left hand – he will say, “Alas, if only my account were not given to me!” 25 and that we would never knew what our records contained. 26 "Ah! Would that (Death) had made an end of me! 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 (The stern command will say): "Seize ye him, and bind ye him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 then in a chain seventy arm's lengths long insert him. 32 Verily he was wont not to believe in Allah, the Mighty. 33 nor did he feel any urge to feed the needy, 34 "So no friend hath he here this Day. 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 which only the sinners will eat.” 37
